Academic Mode guide
The Academic Workspace for institutions, programmes, dissertations and supervision.
Turning it on
An organisation administrator enables Academic Mode in Administration → Settings. Until then the Academic Workspace is not available and no academic data is readable. Turning it off hides the data again without deleting it.
What it covers
Institutions, faculties, programmes, modules and cohorts; research projects, dissertations and capstones with a student and a supervisor; the assessment brief, learning outcomes, rubric and word limit; citation style, ethics requirement and AI-use policy; literature, methodology, supervision records, evidence, progress reviews and feedback. Milestones and risks use the ordinary project records.
Student authorship
Students write their own literature, methodology and evidence entries. Supervisors write supervision records, progress reviews and feedback. Nobody can edit or delete an entry written by someone else, and authorship cannot be changed. An entry can be flagged as AI-assisted.
What the app will never do
It never invents sources, data, grades or ethics approvals. Sources are recorded exactly as typed, and the app does not verify citations. Ethics approval can only be recorded by a person other than the student, with the committee's own reference number. There is no grade field anywhere in the app.
Submission, grading, publication, emails
These require a human approval and are performed manually. Use Request approval on the project's Academic tab.
